13 Final road "tuf": Nijem and Ferguson set to duel for UFC contract

Ramsey Nijem and Tony Ferguson shook hands and their distance while posing for a stare-down an image after the weight of their Ultimate Fighter 13 final bout Friday at the Palms.

Although the two do not particularly like each other, they see no reason to add further fuel to the match. Their main dream is hanging in the balance.

Nijem, who weighed in at 170 pounds, and Ferguson, who tipped the scales at 169, will fight for a $ 100,000 UFC New contracts and "The Ultimate Fighter" championship Saturday night. Their shooting titles, a 12-fight event which starts at 3 p.m. from the Pearl at the Palms. Spike will send important cards beginning 6, while the preliminary bouts will air on facebook.

Ferguson, who fight in Ventura, California, typically, spent his camp in Alexandria, Minn., at Brock Lesnar. DeathClutch Gym. Lesnar coached Ferguson on the show. The former UFC Heavyweight champion came away so impressed Ferguson's work ethic that he urged him to continue his education.

"Brock allowed me to be in his family group, and it was the coolest thing in the world," Ferguson said. -That the guy is a role model as much regardless of what anyone says about Brock.

Nijem, who at Junior dos Santos ' opposing team during the show, says the Mcgees role that mentors has proved invaluable to his experience on the show.

-When he went through the House and I saw what he could do, I just took his advice and did what he did, "said Nijem. "I have had the same results so far."

Each fighter on the card made weight Friday and most cordial, which kept the interaction that Nijem and Ferguson – with a small exception.

After Danny Downes and Jeremy Stephens weight for their easy fight extended his arm for a Downes handshaking. Stephens turned their backs and walked away.

Downes is a partner with the training of Anthony Pettis, former WEC lightweight champion who fights in the most important bout of the evening. Pettis challenges UFC veteran Clay Guida, who received loud applause as usual at the road-in.
