The Senate takes steps to allow the incorporation of Laughlin

CARSON CITY — The Senate completed action Friday on a draft law that makes it possible to decide on Laughlin should become a city.

The Senate adopted an amendment of the composition SB 262.

No vote to incorporate, it would not, however, contain Casino corridor in the community about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.

Before any action, will the Committee on local government finance conduct a study to determine whether it is economically feasible to incorporate Laughlin.

It would then be up to the Clark County Commission, or the Legislative Commission to approve a special election for 7 000 to 8 000 inhabitants in the community to vote.

If residents approve incorporation, would a city manager form of Government is created. The city had a mayor and four Council members.
